Saturday we took a little day trip to Mooresville to the Lazy 5 Ranch, which is like a drive-through zoo. It was SO cool! I had always wanted to go to the one in Natural Bridge Va but never made it there. This one was a 3-mile dirt road with dozens and dozens of different animals that would walk right up to your car. At first I was totally freaked out because the ostriches and llamas would literally stick their whole heads and necks into the window of the car and try to get the feed. But then we eventually learned to hold the feed OUTSIDE of the car and let them eat it from there (hey, we were amateurs at this!). We went through twice because the first time Hailey didn't really get to see anything from her carseat. But the second time she rode on Jamie's lap in the front so she could see all the animals. She loved it!
Here's a little video clip followed by LOTS of pictures.
we believe these were domesticated deer
warthog
bison/buffalo/ox (I think)
couldn't stop laughing at the mouths of these things!!
llama
rhino
giraffes-- SOO pretty

Inside of the car, full of feed, after we finished -- haha! The outside also has tongue marks all over it from where the animals were licking it!
Here are a few pictures from the petting zoo:

The petting zoo also had ducks, which I didn't get a picture of. But as you all know, Hailey is on a major "quacking" kick. Any time she sees a duck on tv, in a book, or anything that resembles a duck, she starts quacking. Or actually, "cacking", because that's how she says it. She was chasing the ducks around yelling "CACK CACK CACK!!".
We had a great time. If you have never been to one of these, we would highly recommend it. Especially if you have kids!
